Abstract
The electrochemical oxidation of anodic indium in an acetonitrile solu tion of neutral heterocyclic pyrimidine-2-thions [RpymtH] yielded comp lexes of stoichiometry [In(Rpymt)(3)]. The crystal structures of tris( pyrimidine-2-thiolato) indium(III) and tris[(5-ethyl-4,6-dimethyl) pyr imidine-2-thiolato] indium(III) have been determined by X-ray diffract ion. In both compounds the metal has a distorted InS3N3 octahedral geo metry. The structure in solution of these compounds is studied by H-1, C-13 and F-19 NMR. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
