Ma. Akhmetev et Lb. Golovneva, NEW DATA ON COMPOSITION AND AGE OF MALOMIKHAILOVKA FLORA FROM THE UPPER CRETACEOUS OF THE AMUR RIVER LOWER COURSES, Stratigraphy and geological correlation, 6(3), 1998, pp. 249-261
The described flora is studied near the village of Malomikhailovka, wh
ere it is confined to synonymous formation of an intermontane depressi
on at the northern end of the Sikhote Alin volcanic belt. In its domin
ant taxa and in the composition of plant groupings, the studied flora
notably differs from the coeval Tsagayan flora of the Zeya-Bureya depr
ession and from floras occurring in western Sakhalin and eastern Sikho
te Alin. It includes a new genus, Amurocyparis, with type species A. s
okoloviae, as well as Larix puerensis sp. nov., Cryptomerites tutshkov
ii sp. nov., Corylites amurensis sp. nov., and Palaeocarpinus pacifica
sp. nov., which are described here. The latter taxon was discovered f
or the first time in Russia.
