Abstract
A moving coordinate method for a multi-domain technique is presented t o simulate unsteady flows with moving boundary: the coordinate system fixed to each moving domain is introduced into the multi-domain techni que; then in the governing equations the effect of virtual mass is add ed and by the exchange of physical values among domains the difference due to the observation system is considered. The present method is ap plied to flows within the ballistic range. As the results are characte ristic of phenomena in launching the projectile supersonically, such a s the interaction between the shock wave and the blast wave, and are n umerically captured with the prediction of the flying speed of the pro jectile.
