Abstract
All Chipblaster standard face mills and indexable end mills can operat e at 20,000 rpm out of the box. For very high speed, a complete line o f cutters made of titanium helps to reduce weight and improve balance. Metal can be cut much faster by keeping coolant focused at the chip t ool interface, giving you real control of your process. When integrate d with the rest of the elements in the system the effects can he impre ssive. it's currently possible to mill 1018 steel at 3000 sfm (914 m/m in) with carbide inserts. Under experimental conditions, researchers h ave cut at 5000 sfm (1524 m/min).
