Cvb. Leite et al., EFFECT OF THE PREEQUILIBRIUM CHARGE-STATE ON THE LI+ EMISSION YIELD, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section B, Beam interactions with materials and atoms, 140(1-2), 1998, pp. 55-60
The secondary emission yield of Li+ from a LIF target bombarded with 2
.0 MeV nitrogen ions was measured as functions of the incident ion cha
rge state and of the target temperature, The results were discussed co
nsidering current models (Bitensky et al., Nucl. Instr. and Meth. B 72
(1992) 380; da Silveira and Mates, Surf Sci. 326 (1995) 370) and the
effects of the contaminant layer adsorbed on the target surface, It wa
s found that the Li+ emission yield shows a dependence on the ion pre-
equilibrium charge state in contrast with the H+ emission yield, which
is known to be strongly dependent on the incident charge state of the
projectile. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
