Abstract
Reaction of t-BuLi with a mixture of aryl bromide and chiral diamine, amino ether or diether, in toluene at -78 degrees C provided chiral ar yllithium complexes efficiently. Reaction of these aryllithium complex es with alpha,beta-unsaturated tert-butyl esters afforded the 1,4-addi tion products in up to 88% ee. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All righ ts reserved.
