Abstract
A simple diffusion-limited model is presented to explain the capacity limitations of an actual 3 volt rechargeable lithium/polymer electroly te/lithium manganese dioxide cell at low to moderate discharge rates. Chemical diffusion coefficients of lithium in lithium manganese dioxid e, on the order of 10(-12)-10(-14) cm(2)/sec were determined for the t emperature range of -10-40 degrees C.
