I. Gurol et al., SYNTHESIS OF TETRAALKYLTHIO-SUBSTITUTED PHTHALOCYANINES AND THEIR COMPLEXATION WITH AG(I) AND PD(II), Journal of the Chemical Society. Dalton transactions, (4), 1994, pp. 497-500
The synthesis of new metal-free and nickel(II) phthalocyanines substit
uted with four alkylthio groups SR (R = dodecyl or hexadecyl) is descr
ibed. The new compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses,
and IR, H-1 NMR and UV/VIS spectroscopy. The thio donors co-ordinate
to Ag(I) and Pd(II) to give 2:1 metal-nickel phthalocyanine species. T
he changes in the electronic spectra with respect to increasing concen
tration of Pd(II) or Ag(I) have been investigated.
