A 57-year-old male patient with advanced adenocarcinoma of the lung, w
ho was administered oral anticoagulant therapy because of pulmonary em
bolism, developed coumarin necrosis confined to the penis and feet. To
our knowledge, this patient showing acral involvement is the seventh
case of coumarin-induced penile necrosis reported to date. (C) 1998 El
