Physical-chemical and selected biological characteristics were studied
in two field wells situated close to each other, which differ in the
forms of exploitation of their surrounding areas (field, pasture). Obt
ained data fall within a variation breadth as specified for this regio
n. The structure of studied organisms is influenced not only by geolog
ical conditions, but also by technical characteristics and the ways of
exploitation of immediately neighbouring land. Based on examined char
acteristics it may be concluded that water in the wells in question is
of surface water type. We found 41 taxa of zooplankton, but only 12 t
axa of zoobenthos mostly belonging to eurybiont species, with the exce
ption of the trogophile species of Niphargus jovanovici, indicating sp
ecific subsurface conditions.
