Abstract
A high-resolution excitation spectrum of gaseous YS has been recorded by laser excitation spectroscopy in a supersonic molecular beam. The Y S molecules were produced by the reaction of laser-ablated yttrium ato ms with CS2. The (0, 0) band of the A (2) Pi(1/2)-X (2) Sigma(+) trans ition near 750 nm was rotationally analyzed, and a set of molecular co nstants is given for both electronic states. (C) 1998 Academic Press.
