Ce. Hernandez et al., SOLUBILITY OF ANTHRACENE IN BINARY ALKANE-ISOPROPOXYETHANOL SOLVENT MIXTURES AT 298.2 K(2), Physics and chemistry of liquids, 36(4), 1998, pp. 257-263
Experimental solubilities are reported for anthracene dissolved in sev
en binary alkane + 2-isopropoxyethanol solvent mixtures at 25 degrees
C. The alkane cosolvents studied were hexane, heptane, octane, cyclohe
xane, methylcyclohexane, 2, 2, 4-trimethylpentane and tert-butylcycloh
exane (also called (1,1-dimethylethyl)cyclohexane). Results of these m
easurements are used to lest two mathematical representations based up
on the combined Nearly Ideal Binary Solvent (NIBS)/Redlich-Kister and
Modified Wilson equations. For the seven systems studied, both equatio
ns were found to provide an accurate mathematical representation of th
e experimental data, with an overall average absolute deviation betwee
n measured and calculated values being 0.5% and 0.7% for the Combined
NIBS/Redlich-Kister and Modified Wilson equations, respectively.
