Aa. Evstrapov et al., USING REFLECTIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRY TO DETERMINE THE BIODEGRADATION OFMONUMENTS MADE FROM MARBLE, Journal of optical technology, 65(5), 1998, pp. 350-353
Different spatial spectral dependences of the reflectance are obtained
for marble from different sites. This increases the information conte
nt of the measurements and makes it possible to use the dependences as
supplementary attributes in identifying the marble. Biodegradation of
marble is studied on samples inoculated with melanin-containing micro
mycetes. The reflection of the samples changes most substantially 1-1.
5 months after inoculation, and this can be used to diagnose the biode
gradation of marble. (C) 1998 The Optical Society of America.
