Abstract
The methanol extract of fruits of Trichilia claussenii yielded the new gamma-lactones, (2R,3S, -4-methyl-2-(13'-phenyl-1'-n-tridecyl)-butano lide, (2R, 3S, y-4-methyl-2-(11'-phenyl-1'-n-undecyl)-butanolide, (2R, 3:S, xy-4-methyl-2-(1'-n-hexadec-7'(Z)-enyl)-butanolide and (2R,3S, -h ydroxy-4-methyl-2-(1'-n-tetradecyl)-bustanolide. The structures of the isolated compounds were determined on the basis of spectral analysis. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
