Thermoplastic vulcanizates contain particles of vulcanized rubber disp
ersed in a thermoplastic resin, They are formed by the vulcanization o
f the rubber during its mixing with the thermoplastic resin in the mol
ten state. In the work presented here, we consider the evolution of th
e blend morphology before dynamic vulcanization, The study considers t
he rheological and interfacial effects on the phase morphology of the
rubber-plastic blends during molten-state mixing, cold pressing, and c
ompression molding. In addition, for blends of NR with polyethylene th
e kinetics of the evolution of morphology during mixing with the polye
thylene in the molten state was considered.
