Abstract
A C-2-symmetric bis(18-crown-6) analogue (2) of Troger's base (1) has been synthesized. In a series of achiral primary bisammonium salts, co mpound 2 binds heptane-1,7-diylbis(ammonium chloride) most strongly. M oderate enantioselective discrimination in the complexation of L-cysti ne dimethyl ester dihydrochloride with rac-2 was observed. (C) 1998 El sevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
