EXPERIMENTAL WIDTHS OF K-ALPHA X-RAY-LINES IN SOLID-STATE 3D ELEMENTS

Using a high-resolution x-ray crystal diffraction spectrometer, x-ray line widths of the K alpha(1,2) lines of Fe, Co, Ni and Cu were analys ed, Thereby, an evolutionary strategy mas used for spectrum deconvolut ion to determine the life-time governed contributions to the line widt hs. On this basis, L-2-L3X Coster-Kronig widths are calculated and ass umptions about the energetics of radiationless transitions are derived . (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
