Ej. Popovici et al., LUMINESCENT-GRADE ZINC-SULFIDE PREPARED BY THIOSULFATE METHOD - V - CORRECTION OF THE LUMINESCENCE ABILITY OF ZNS-TYPES BY DIFFERENT ADDITIVES, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 43(1), 1998, pp. 13-17
The different zinc sulphide types obtained by thiosulphate method poss
ess variable luminescence abilities which are mostly connected with di
fferent desulphuration degrees of the host lattice. The luminescence a
bility could be partially corrected by addition of small amounts of zi
nc oxide or sulphur into the synthesis mixtures. The optimum additive
amounts are of 1.0-1.5 mol % ZnO for mixtures containing ZnSII-type ob
tained in intermediate sulphurated atmosphere and of about 3 wt % sulp
hur for mixture with ZnSIII-type prepared in weakly sulphurated medium
