Ci. Chiriac et al., SYNTHESES OF AROMATIC AMIDES BY A DIRECT CONDENSATION REACTION USING PHOSPHORUS-ACID IODINE AS REAGENT, Revue Roumaine de Chimie, 43(1), 1998, pp. 31-33
Aromatic amides have been prepared with high to moderate yields by a d
irect condensation reaction of aromatic carboxylic acids with aromatic
amines in the presence of phosphorous acid and iodine in pyridine sol
ution at reflux (about 140-150 degrees), for 5-6 hours.
