Abstract
On the basis of experimental investigations carried out on large scale simulated rock/concrete interfaces, fracture properties are extracted from a finite element analysis. G(c) and G(F) are extracted from line ar elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) and nonlinear fracture mechanics (NLFM), respectively. It is shown that the fracture energy G(c) for bi material interfaces remains constant as long as the crack lies within the interface, and an accurate crack profile is obtained from the NLFM analysis.
