Dj. Newman et B. Ng, SIMULATION OF SUPERCONDUCTING TRANSITIONS IN A 2D MODEL SYSTEM WITH LOCAL PAIRING, Physica. C, Superconductivity, 220(1-2), 1994, pp. 7-20
Monte Carlo simulations are used to provide a detailed comparison of t
he properties of the ''hole-modulated hopping'' model with experimenta
lly determined properties of high-T-c superconductors. New properties
simulated in this work include the density of quasiparticle fluctuatio
ns above and below T-c, the density of ordered quasiparticles and a te
mperature-dependent coherence length. Several comparisons are made bet
ween the simulated results and known properties of high-T-c supercondu
ctors. Qualitative agreement is obtained, but quantitative discrepanci
es lead to the conclusion that the range of the pairing interaction in
the hamiltonian used for this study is too short to account for the p
roperties of real systems.
