D. Malec et al., MODELING OF THE DIELECTRIC-BREAKDOWN PHENOMENON IN POLYMER WITH THE NEW PARAMETER PRESSURE, Journal of physics. D, Applied physics, 27(2), 1994, pp. 360-364
A new parameter, pressure, has been introduced into study of the elect
rical properties of polymers, in particular into the thermal breakdown
theory for modelling of the breakdown field F(b) variations of high-d
ensity polyethylene versus pressure. Theoretical F(b) values, determin
ed by numerical calculation of the fundamental heat balance equation a
nd the analytical expression of the conductivity, are compared with ex
perimental results obtained in the pressure range 50-500 bar. Good agr
eement was observed in this comparison.
