Abstract
This essay analyses four possible outcomes of the transition to tomorr ow's global information society. Using scenario building methods the e ssay describes and analyses the pathways the transitions may take, in the hopes of guiding proactive thinking about the most desirable infor mation and communication strategies for developing countries.
