Abstract
Y2O2S:Eu laboratory prepared screens were evaluated as mammographic im age receptors and were compared to similarly prepared screens of Gd2O2 S:Tb and Y2O2S:Tb phosphor materials, often used in X-ray imaging dete ctors. The evaluation was performed by determining the Modulation Tran sfer Function (MTF) and the spatial frequency dependent Detective Quan tum Efficiency (DQE). Y2O2S:Eu exhibited higher DQE values at low freq uencies and given its good spectral matching with digital optical dete ctors, it may be appropriate for use in X-ray digital mammography.
