Abstract
A straightforward method for the synthesis of N-succinimidyl 3- and 4- [I-124]iodobenzoate (m- and p-[I-124]SIB) via destannylation has been developed. The stannylated precursor was obtained as a white crystalli ne solid in 80% overall yield from 3- or 4-iodobenzoic acid after a tw o step synthesis. Iodode-stannylation was performed with 4.2-d (25% be ta(+))I-124 and Iodogen or lodobeads as the oxidant yielding 90% of th e desired product. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.
