Abstract
Dominance techniques are used to create optimistic and pessimistic con vex free-disposal hull technologies for data sets. These optimistic an d pessimistic technologies create bounds within which one can reasonab ly expect the true technology to lie. The potential differences betwee n these optimistic and pessimistic reference technologies are examined by comparing the reference technologies for data drawn from agricultu ral field trials. Empirical analysis suggests that there are significa nt differences between the reference technologies. (C) 1998 Elsevier S cience S.A. All rights reserved.
