Neutron diffraction studies of PrPdSn and NdPdSn indicate that both co
mpounds exhibit the TiNiSi-type crystal structure and order antiferrom
agnetically below T-N=4.6 K for PrPdSn and 3.6 K for NdPdSn. The magne
tic ordering is described by the wave vector k=[0,1/2,1/2] for PrPdSn
and k=[0.273,1/2,1/2] for NdPdSn. The magnetic structure of PrPdSn is
collinear, whereas that of NdPdSn is sine modulated. (C) 1998 Elsevier
