ZIGZAG DESTABILIZED SPIRALS AND TARGETS

We report experimental evidence of novel kinds of patterns-zigzag dest abilized spirals and targets. They have been found in a planar de driv en semiconductor-gas discharge system. Comparison of these patterns wi th conventional spirals and targets that can form in the same system a llows one to conclude that the observed phenomena are specific for lar ge amplitude structures of pattern forming media.
