Abstract
A new isomeric state in Pa-217 has been observed with an alpha-decay o f E-alpha = 9.540 +/- 0.050 MeV and T-1/2 = 1.5(-0.4)(+0.9) ms. The is otope Pa-217 was produced in the reaction Si-28 + Pt-194 at a beam ene rgy of 163 MeV. Measured alpha-decay half-life was reproduced by the c luster model calculation with a transferred angular momentum of l = 7 (h) over bar.
