The breakup of B-8 On Ni-58 below the Coulomb barrier was measured rec
ently with the aim of determining the Coulomb breakup components. We r
eexamine this reaction, and perform one-step quantum-mechanical calcul
ations that include El, E2, and nuclear contributions. We show that th
e nuclear contribution is by no means negligible at the intermediate a
ngular range where data were taken. Our results indicate that, for an
accurate description of this reaction, Coulomb El, E2, and nuclear pro
cesses all have to be taken into account.
