Xt. Wang et al., OBSERVATION OF THE PURE LONG-RANGE 1(U) STATE OF AN ALKALI-METAL DIMER BY PHOTOASSOCIATIVE SPECTROSCOPY, Physical review. A, 57(6), 1998, pp. 4600-4603
The pure long-range 1(u) state of an alkali-metal dimer is observed in
K-39(2) using photoassociative spectroscopy of ultracold atoms. High-
resolution spectra for vibrational levels upsilon=0-->7 are recorded b
y resonance-enhanced two-photon ionization. Strong rotation-hyperfine
couplings are observed. Major molecular constants and a hyperfine stru
cture analysis are presented. This 1, state is useful as an ungerade F
ranck-Condon ''window'' at large internuclear distance for studies of
highly excited long-range interactions.
