Abstract
The reaction of RNSO with (LiNHBu)-Bu-t produces the hexamers {Li-2[SO ((NBu)-Bu-t)(NR)]} 6 These thirty-six atom (Li12S6O6N12) clusters adop t novel structural arrangements derived from (a) the aggregation of th ree Li4S2O2N4 hexagonal prisms via their Li2O2 faces (R = Bu-t) or (b) the dimerization of two Li6S3O3N6 eighteen atom cages via their Li3O3 faces (R = SiMe3).
