Highly crystalline and uniaxial oriented PTFE films, nonostructured in
one dimension, were used to produce a new kind of fully crystalline,
thermo-reversible morphology in the ferroelectric copolymer Poly[Vinyl
idenefluoride-Trifluoroetnylene]. The resulting state is built up of r
egularly stacked lamella crystals of about 100 nm thickness and latera
l dimensions and about 20 mu m building up a superlattice. Two elastic
instabilities have been found in the vicinity of the ferroelectric tr
ansition of the single crystal.
