Some theoretical and experimental results concerning propagation, gene
ration and interaction of sound waves in polydomain ferroelectrics (le
ad germanate and gadolinium molibdate) are presented. The following su
bjects are considered: sound reflection from a plane domain wall; seco
nd acoustic harmonic generation in polydomain ferroelastic; sound scat
tering on the system of cylindrical domains; sound propagation along r
egular system of plane domain walls; domain-acoustic transducers and t
heir applications; investigation of domain 'memory' by acoustic method
s; acoustic emission in switching process.
