B. Lindmark et al., DUAL-POLARIZED ARRAY FOR SIGNAL-PROCESSING APPLICATIONS IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATIONS, IEEE transactions on antennas and propagation, 46(6), 1998, pp. 758-763
A novel dual-polarized antenna array designed for a spatial division m
ultiple access (SDMA) system working in the 1850-1990-MHz band is desi
gned and built. The antenna is designed to have similar element patter
ns, and measurements of S-parameters and radiation patterns are presen
ted. The array signal processing performance of the array using all el
ements and with no compensation for mutual coupling or differences in
element patterns is studied through direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimat
ion using total least squares estimation of signal parameters via rota
tional invariance techniques (TLS-ESPRIT), The results show that the a
ccuracy of the DOA estimates is quite acceptable for wireless communic
ation applications.
