A SI PSI, RSMS DATA STREAM AND PCR/PTS PROCESSING ALGORITHM FOR KOREASAT DIGITAL DBS SYSTEM/

Koreasat DBS(Digital Broadcasting Satellite) receiver([1]) consists of 45 cm antenna, LNB(Low Noise Block), STB(Set-Top-Box), smart card and remote-controller. In order to work with DBS encoder, the STB should be designed and implemented to process a SI/PSI(Service Information/Pr ogram Specific Information) and RSMS(Resource and Subscriber Managemen t System)([2]) data stream. A SI/PSI and RSMS data stream comes from t ransport stream packet via a RSMS, The SI/PSI and RSMS data stream is very important because it relates with channel information and conditi onal access. The definition of SI/PSI and RSMS data stream for Koreasa t DBS System was based on the DVB(Digital Video Broadcasting) standard and MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) standard([3-5]). This paper in troduces an algorithm on SI/PSI and RSMS data stream processing as wel l as PCR/PTS(Program Clock Reference/Presentation Time Stamp) processi ng algorithm which is related with audio and video synchronization.
