Abstract
Reaction of equimolar quantities of PdMe2(Me2NCH2CH2NMe2) and B(C6F5)( 3) in the presence of ethylene results in the formation of [PdMe(C2H4) (Me2NCH2CH2NMe2)](+)[BMe(C6F5)(3)](-); the latter catalyzes the oligom erization of ethylene to highly branched products, which are apparentl y formed via both reversible beta-elimination-reinsertion processes an d the incorporation of short chain oligomeric products.
