Abstract
An experimental investigation of the dynamic behaviour of an oriented assembly of aligned continuous fibres suspended in a viscous fluid mat rix has been conducted using a purpose-built linear oscillator. The ma terial has been characterized both along and transverse to the fibre d irection for different fibre volume concentrations, and the results ar e compared with analytical predictions.
