Abstract
The high Z actinides with odd-Z and 2Z-N=43 have several common nuclea r properties. Beside Bk-248, for which the data is not available, all the isotopes with 2Z-N=43 have a very high thermal fission cross-secti on. Based on the common nuclear properties of isotopes and isomers wit h the same 2Z-N value, we predict that both Bk-248g and Bk-248m are fi ssionable isotopes with thermal fission cross-sections greater than 10 00b.
