The analytic continuation of Crother's uniform semiclassical wavefunct
ion to below threshold has been extended to include resonant states fo
r L = 1 and L = 2, where L is the total angular momentum azimuthal qua
ntum number of the two excited electrons. Using the Bohr-Sommerfeld co
mplex quantization rule with two complex transition points the complex
eigenvalues for doubly excited states of He- are calculated. The reso
nance energy positions, which are parametrized in terms of an irration
al azimuthal quantum number L for L = 1 (L = (root 17 - 1)/2) and an i
nteger L for L = 2 (L = 3), are in good agreement with the experimenta
l results of Buckman et al.
