A system of differential equations solvable in a standard mathematical
Mathcad PLUS 6.0 package and applicable to galvanic cathodic protecti
on with a porous anode is derived. The system describes the overpotent
ial, the total overall current density, and their distribution along t
he pores of the anode as the functions of the porosity characteristics
, which are determined by methods of quantitative metallography. Theor
etical solutions are confirmed experimentally.
