Abstract
The paper is concerned with a class of semilinear elliptic Dirichlet p roblems approximating degenerate equations. By using variational metho ds, it is proved that, if the degeneration set consists of k connected components, then there exist at least 2(k) - 1 multibump positive sol utions.
