Prenatal diagnosis, perinatal management, and surgical treatment of ch
ildren with lymphangioma can cause considerable difficulties. This pap
er presents a case of a thoracic wall lymphangioma diagnosed in the se
venteenth week of pregnancy, which quickly developed monstrous dimensi
ons. The postnatal phase was complicated by preterm delivery in the 32
nd week of pregnancy, bleeding in the tumor and mechanical compression
of the thorax by the huge masses. Pediatric intensive care and surgic
al treatment saved the child. Cosmetic result is convenient. By exampl
e of the presented case the literature, problems of diagnosis, perinat
al management and nomenclature of lymphangioma are discussed.
