Abstract
Prenatal diagnosis, perinatal management, and surgical treatment of ch ildren with lymphangioma can cause considerable difficulties. This pap er presents a case of a thoracic wall lymphangioma diagnosed in the se venteenth week of pregnancy, which quickly developed monstrous dimensi ons. The postnatal phase was complicated by preterm delivery in the 32 nd week of pregnancy, bleeding in the tumor and mechanical compression of the thorax by the huge masses. Pediatric intensive care and surgic al treatment saved the child. Cosmetic result is convenient. By exampl e of the presented case the literature, problems of diagnosis, perinat al management and nomenclature of lymphangioma are discussed.
