Abstract
An unusual postoperative complication of ulceration and hemorrhage dur ing the postoperative period of a Nissen fundoplication in a patient w ith severe chronic periesophagitis is presented. In a review of the li terature we could not find a similar report. The possible etiopathogen ic mechanisms are discussed, and preventive measures are suggested.
