Abstract
The bicyclo[4.3.1]decenone core of the ras-farnesyl protein transferas e inhibitors CP-225,917 and CP-263,114 is prepared in 6 steps from cyc lohexanone. The key step is an intramolecular Mukaiyama aldol reaction .
