Abstract
Analyses of blood chemical parameters were carried out in 45 night her ons (Nycticorax nycticorax), six purple gallinule (Porphyrio porphyrio ), four purple heron (Ardea purpurea), 23 little egret (Egretta garzet ta), 16 cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis), 23 spoonbills (Platalea leucorod ia) and 10 glossy ibis (Plegadis falcinellus). The following plasmatic parameters were determined: glucose, urea, uric acid, cholesterol, tr iglycerides, creatinine, ALT, AST, AP, CPK, LDH, gamma-GT, sodium, pot assium, total phosphorus, chloride, calcium, magnesium, total plasma p rotein, albumin, globulins, albumin/globulin ratio and osmolality. Som e statistically significant differences were observed between the age groups and some similarities with other related birds were observed.
