Kj. Jeon et al., MEASUREMENT OF THE OPTICAL COEFFICIENTS OF MULTIPLE-SCATTERING MEDIA FROM TIME-RESOLVED REFLECTANCE SPECTRA, Journal of the Korean Physical Society, 32(6), 1998, pp. 823-827
The optical coefficients of multiple-scattering media have been measur
ed by means of time-resolved reflectance spectroscopy. In particular,
time-resolved reflectance spectra for various absorber concentrations
and different radial distances between the incident beam and the detec
ting fiber were systematically measured and analyzed. The absorption a
nd transport scattering coefficients calculated based on the time-reso
lved reflectance spectra were in good agreement with the values measur
ed by a conventional steady-state method. We also found that these coe
fficients for low absorbance scattering media could be simply obtained
from the relationship between the radial distance and the time delay
of the peak in the time-resolved reflectance spectra.
