Abstract
We describe a high yielding synthesis of the title compound 2 in its p ure form. The synthesis consists of: a Michaelis-Arbuzov reaction betw een triethylphosphite and fluorotribromomethane in hexane at 50 degree s C giving diethyl dibromofluoromethylphosphonate 1 in 79-85 % yield a nd a halogen-metal exchange reaction between 1 and n-BuLi/ClSiMe3 at - 90 degrees C yielding in 94 % yield.
