Abstract
Synovial cysts and ganglion cysts are commonly located near peripheral joints and tendon sheaths. They arise less frequently from spinal fac et joints. If located intraspinally they might cause a compression of nerve roots. We report on a patient suffering from severe sciatica due to bilateral synovial cysts. Bilateral synovial cysts are very uncomm on lesions. To exclude other compressive tumours an extensive diagnost ic procedure must be performed.
