Abstract
The structures of a new glyceryl phosphoryl ether [1] and an isocaffei ne derivative [4] from the sea cucumber, Cucumaria frondosa, were eluc idated by spectroscopic means and chemical transformations. Compound 1 is (11Z)-octadecenyl]-sn-glyceryl-3-phosphorylcholine and compound 4 is 1,3,9-trimethyl-8-nitrosoisoxanthine. The dinucleotides thymidylyl- (3'-5')-thymidine [7], 2'-deoxyadenylyl-(3'-5')-thymidine [8] and midy lyl-(3'-5')-2'-deoxyadenosine-3'-monophosphate [9], in the form of the ir sodium salts, were also isolated from this same source.
